The bleach free whitening system is unique in that it is the only whitening system that is pain free. It is also the only zero sensitivity whitening system on the market. In fact it helps reduce tooth sensitivity after treatment making many uncomfortable teeth much more comfortable and therefore making eating and drinking more comfortable for the patient. With bleach free whitening the results are obtained in one dental visit. There are no lengthy isolation techniques that need to be employed as are required when using conventional bleaching systems. There are no potentially dangerous UV rays with the bleach free whitening system like there are in may bleaching systems that employ lights and or lasers. The bleach free whitening systems delivers long lasting results for up to 6 months.

With the bleach free whitening system the patient’s teeth are isolated by a lip or cheek retractor. The patient’s lips are protected by a lip balm and their teeth are polished with the bleach free whitening polishing paste to remove all the plaque and material alba that has built up since their last professional cleaning. The patient’s teeth are then treated with the bleach free whitening-conditioning agent for approximately 15 to 30 seconds they are then rinsed with copious amounts of water for at least one minute and air-dried. The teeth are then coated multiple times with a second conditioning agent and then gently air dried to ensure they’re in the most optimal condition they can be in to accept the bonding agent. The teeth are then coated with an unfilled resin that penetrates into the microscopic pores that the first two conditioning agents have created in the teeth and are again exposed to a gently stream of air to ensure an even thin film over the entire labial surface of the teeth. Then the bleach free whitening light cured enamel sealant is applied in a thin translucent layer to the labial surface of each tooth, one tooth at a time, a gentile stream of air is once again used to help create a thin even film of the bleach free whitening light cured enamel sealant, which is then allowed some time to self-level prior to it being cured with curing light. Several layers can be applied in this manner until the desired results are achieved. A gloss-finishing coat is applied once the optimal number of layers of the bleach free whitening light cured enamel sealant are placed. This gloss-finishing coat gives the teeth a finishing luster and seals the bleach free whitening light cured enamel sealant to increase it durability, thereby increasing it life span, and decrease its permeability, thereby stabilizing its color over its life span. The gloss-finishing coat is also light cured. The final step in the bleach free whitening process is to separate all the teeth and polish between them so the patient can brush and floss normally.
As with all tooth whitening procedures bleach free whitening is most effective for patients who have healthy teeth in good position and whose only cosmetic concern is the color of their teeth. Bleach free whitening can effectively whiten the appearance of a patient’s teeth but it cannot correct misaligned teeth, repair fractures, repair chips, replace missing teeth, replace lost teeth, repair broken teeth, restore decayed teeth, alter the size of teeth, nor alter the shape of teeth. For these aforementioned conditions restorations are required to enhance a patient’s appearance, but if color is the only issue the bleach free whitening technique can be quite effective and efficient, usually requiring only one visit.
